During my 2007 Trans-America Motorbike Ride, I took a few weeks off to meet some friends (GlenVanPeski, Ron Moak, and Henry Shires) in California to hike the ~185 mile Tahoe Rim Trail. We had just about everything imaginable in terms of weather…snow, rain, wind. Sun and clouds. Hot and cold. Variety fo’ sho’. Unfortunately the last month spent on my motorbike did very little to help me be in shape to hike effectively…knee pain ended up sidelining me for the last ~36 miles…some of which I hiked in 1999 when on the PCT, but there are a few miles that remain untrod by my feet. Next time I am in the area, I’ll likely go finish it up. It is always great to be in the mountains with great friends, and on good trail.
